Bernese Mountain Dog puppies are affectionate, social and often wonderfully devoted to their families. They also grow very quickly.

That means habits such as jumping, pulling, leaning into people or ignoring boundaries can become much harder to manage if they are allowed to build while the puppy is still small.

I like to establish calm greetings, leash foundations, recall habits, household structure and family consistency early. The goal is a confident Bernese that keeps its warm personality while understanding how to move through family life with better manners.

1. When should we start puppy training?

As soon as the puppy comes home. Early training is about routines, communication and preventing confusion before unwanted habits become established.

2. Can you help with a large-breed puppy that is already jumping?

Yes. With large breeds, I especially like to address jumping early because a behavior that feels harmless at twelve weeks can become difficult when the dog gains size and strength.

3. Do you work on house training in the home?

Yes. Home is the best place to look at the actual routine, timing, access and supervision that affect house training.

4. Can the whole family participate?

Absolutely. I prefer it. When everyone understands the same system, the puppy receives a clearer and more consistent message.

5. Is puppy biting normal?

Yes, but that does not mean the family should ignore it. I show you how to manage and redirect mouthing while teaching the puppy more appropriate ways to interact.
