It can be if you throw a puppy into everything at once. I prefer controlled exposure. We build confidence and attention first, then teach the puppy how to handle new sights, sounds, people and dogs without becoming overwhelmed.

2. Can you help if my puppy goes crazy when they see another dog?

Yes. With young puppies, that reaction is often excitement or frustration rather than true aggression. Early leash skills, distance, timing and better engagement can prevent that pattern from becoming a long-term habit.

3. Should I socialize my puppy with everyone we meet?

No. Socialization is not about greeting every person and every dog. It is about teaching your puppy to feel comfortable in the world and to remain connected to you even when interesting things are nearby.

4. Can at-home training still help with outside behavior?

Absolutely. We create the communication system in a lower-distraction environment first, then apply it outside. A puppy needs to understand the lesson before we ask them to perform it in the middle of a busy environment.

5. What should I focus on first with a new puppy?

House-training routines, calm communication, name recognition, appropriate chewing, handling, leash foundations and family consistency. Those basics create the foundation for everything that comes later.
