German Shorthaired Pointer puppies are bright, athletic, curious and usually ready to be involved in everything.

They are fast learners, but they also have plenty of energy and independence. That means an under-directed puppy can quickly turn the yard, the leash and the entire household into one big game.

I like to begin early with recall foundations, leash communication, calm routines, household boundaries and structured interaction with the family.

The goal is not to dull the drive that makes the breed so much fun. The goal is to give that drive direction.

The puppy is only half of the equation. The family has to understand the communication too.

If one person calls the puppy repeatedly, someone else rewards jumping and another person changes the rules, the puppy is not being stubborn. The puppy is simply learning from mixed information.

I teach families how timing, repetition, body language and consistency shape puppy behavior.

Once the humans understand the language, the puppy has a much better chance of understanding the expectations.

Right away, in age-appropriate ways. I want coming back to the family to become a strong habit before the puppy gets older, faster and more independent.

3. Can you help with a high-energy sporting-breed puppy?

Absolutely. Energetic puppies usually do very well when we give them clear structure, productive routines and consistent communication instead of simply trying to tire them out.

4. Is puppy biting normal?

Yes. Mouthing is part of puppy development, but the family still needs a clear way to manage it and redirect the puppy toward better behavior.

5. Why do you train in our home?

Because that is where the puppy has to succeed. I want to teach your family how to handle the actual routines, behaviors and distractions that happen in your everyday environment.
